Brooker wrote the episode during lockdown. He's feeling isolated and he probably won't say this but I think he's feeling a bit of fomo Looking at other people's lives out in the world Uh, and he thought that maybe you're comparing your own situation to someone else's situations. That's a thing that people get into when they're isolated on their social media And I think this is a reaction to that social media feeling of separation But being there in a way and also obviously isolation and gorg okay Um, so that's some thoughts on the inspiration behind the episode I feel like that sort of tracks sure.
