Sarah realised that god has made a promise to abraham, but she can't see humanly how that promise is going to be fulfilled. The time line looks impracticabl and impossible to her,. given the fact that they can't conceive, and they're both advanced in age. So sarah takes the wheel, she forces the issue and makes a call.
