Cheap Drone Warfare

The economy of scale is swarming, and that seems to be an obvious advantage of cheap drone warfare. The Soviet Union was one of the major drone flying powers during the Cold War. Commercial microelectronics have enabled smaller, lighter platforms that can now do this in real time via a commercial quadricopter. They provide a very significant capability to an entire platoon or even company of soldiers on the ground.
