The Gautama Monastery

The gautama monastery is in a really relatively isolated place during the time that yonglo was alive. It takes an hour, an hour or two from the capital of chinghai province to day and it's not a highly populated area at all. The history of this monastery is really interesting, because it began under junga's father, the hongu emperor. And then when jumla took the throne, he he was also a huge also he surpassed his father in the patronage of tibetan buddhism. Most of the buildings at the monastery now date to the yungla period, or just after his reign.
