Introduction

This episode is a modified version of a talk I gave originally at the LA County USC Emergency Department Grand Rounds. Songfwah is a French word coming from two components, song meaning blood and fwah meaning cold. Put them together and you literally get cold blooded. But what songFWah really means is calmness under pressure - it's a vital skill not just for ER doctors but for all of us.
