The Great Democracy Experiment

The pandemic has been an example of just how ossified democracy is. There will be opportunities, I think, for democratic experimentation under the stresses that this system is going to face crisis stresses. It can't be opened up in order to achieve a particular reform, but it's possible if British democracy was able to embrace alternative models of democracy from deliberative through to more direct.
