The bridgeport herald stoy claimed that gustav whitehead had flown a flying machine in 19 o one. The flight ended after about a minute and a half when the number 21 crashed into a tree. This amazing report also came with a drawing of the flying machine in full flight. It's been put forward that it was most likely written by the sports editor of the newspaper, a certain richard dick howell. Most researchers also believe that howell drew the picture of the number 21 that appeared alongside the article as it was similar in style to other drawings he had done for the paper.
