Space syntax is model to me. It seems to be trying to address one of the crises of modern cities, which is that they are inorganic and sort of lacking a meanability from 500 years ago. If you think of Barcelona as the really good example, that's a really great city. That's where I think it becomes really interesting if you look at the way that Barcelona has the particular grid. Cerda spent almost 10 years doing the plan for Barcelona for the extension. So he spent a long time learning from how it worked before doing the extension. Even though this grid looks really simple, it's been really carefully positioned so that it’s mixing between two separate two separate systems
