The Effects of Deflation on the French Economy

French economic policy during the 1930s was one of deflation. Deflation caused issues within the French economy that had been building up over the years. The campaign for devaluation, or removal of French Franc from gold standard-based exchange rate, would gain a tremendous amount of support in the early 1930s. Eventually, but not until September 1936, the fronk would be devalued.
