The Wild West of Software Development
When I started working developing in Cobalt, there really wasn't any engineering about it. And then you had things like computers back then were really slow and not much memory. So that's what I call the Wild West. The reason we had the Y2K problem is a bunch of idiots like me had a two-day date field because memory and storage was so expensive back then. Even in the last 10 years, the cost of storage has plummeted so that you now have having a byte data warehouses. But technology both enhanced and constrained what you could do in software development.
