Bitcoin and the Double Spend Problem

Prior to Bitcoin there were attempts of doing digital money but they were centralized because if it's centralized then you can have one person who just decides what the ledger is and make sure that no one's double spending the money. When everything is decentralized and you have loads of different nodes and it's only in a permissionless state suddenly you can have that neutral censorship resistant substrate really to all of these things that you're talking about. The most obvious application of like fixing the double spend problem is money right so it's very like intuitive that the first application for blockchains would have been BitcoinRight?
