The Fine Arts: A Subset of the Liberal Arts
Why are the fine arts important? What did our French estuents say? Anything worth doing is worth doing badly, right? And so look at painting or music or drama at the high levels. The best way to honor someone like Plato is to try to write a dialogue and do your own philosophical reflection. Well, there's training in the fine arts, I think, is marvelous.
