Law professor Amy Wax wrote an opinion piece for the Philadelphia Inquirer in August. She argued that many modern social problems could be traced to decline of bourgeois values such as hard work and getting married before having kids. The most controversial line was all cultures are not equal, or at least they are not equal in preparing people to be productive in an advanced economy. Many people read it as a pretty clear racist dog whistle.
