The Role of Caesar in the Assassination of Julius Caesar

In the aftermath of Julius Caesar's assassination, how was he remembered by Rome? We have no idea whether he hoped to set up a dynasty. The dynasty comes out very strongly with Augustus who starts promoting members of his family. He builds a huge mausoleum, which is just for his family. None of these things are things that Caesar had time to do.
