K. Anders Ericsson is pretty far out, you know, on the tip of the view that there's no such thing as talent, except to like, for basketball players or something. Or I think you were, I think it's nature. And one wonders then what explains why some people can get in 4,000 hours to a place that some people take 10 or 12,000 or other people never get to. Because if you do a retrospective study of people who achieved very high levels of performance, you may well find that they put in more deliberate practice than the chess grandmasters did. Well, maybe extra practice made them better at the game and so that increased their motivation to practice
