Film Review - Fire

At the time Fire was made, homosexuality was illegal in india and also strongly socially taboo. The film's depiction of a lesbian relationship is far from graphic but filming it was still a delicate process. We were careful to see that there was really no crew there at all, except the direct of photography and of people who were required to be unset. And i remember that when we first went into a rehearsal, we sort of did everything, but we were shy from kissing each other. But depa said, just stop that nonsense, will you? Your two professionals and do it. Do it like a professionals do."
