Office Is a Core Asset Class, Right?

I've always struggled with the idea that office is a core asset class. I mean, frankly, office is a better business in other parts of the world than it is in the US. There's a lot of mark to market that hasn't been done in the private sector yet if that all comes to pass. The public markets actually appreciate this much better than private instances.
