In most of Shin Kyung-suke's writing, there is a very personal relationship to the writing. She situates herself as the writer within most of her novels. But in translation, one thing that doesn't quite get across necessarily is the registers of Korean language. So for these two titles, because they are such close, intimate relationships, I was interested to see that for the Korean title it is a very informal like please look after mom and not mother.
