The Problem With Warming Charms
In the Miradore series, my Cyberpunk, I did a lot of upfront world building on the kinds of technology that I wanted to have. And then started writing and realized that I had inadvertently created what was either a post-scarcity or incredibly wealthy society in order to have that level of value. How can I still have all the toys without, you know, well, also having economic pressure? That is where the idea that robots have taken all our jobs, and that there's nothing left for humans to really do came from.
