Perhaps the founders of the religious rit didn't push virtue over policy because they were afraid if they just told christians to vote and vote in accordance with jesus, called a love your neighbor. If you really do emphasize the unchanging christian virtues that we find in the new testament, you're going to find people on the left who also exhibit those qualities, right? And that's not good for politics. So i think what ended of happening is it wasn't just that they, they, they emphasized policy goals and diminished virtue.
