Is Consciousness a Necessity?

I would ask why you necessarily need consciousness to have a very high level of intelligence. I think there is absolutely no evidence there has been any progress whatever. So so consciousness might be an artifact, if you like, a consequence of high intelligence in the human brain, but it's not necessarily a necessary condition. You don't, you might not need t o have consciousness to having a high level ofintelligence.
