Most of the recurring things on The State was also a parody of the idea of recurring things. At some point, did you feel like you had the courage to approach those things directly and purely sincerely? Yes. I'm not satisfied to just have it be something that is cult-like or divisive in some way. I actually aspire to have my stuff being accessible.
