What's the Deal With Your Nickname?
All five Lissaraga children and myself go by nicknames different from our birth names. My mom got her name mispronounced all the time when she was a kid. Immigrating to the states, I always understood her choice to nickname us as a way for her to have control over the mispronunciations.
