Introduction

The Sultan Sea is the biggest inland body of water in California. It rivaled Yosemite National Park in tourism, Frank Sinatra and the Beach Boys vacation there. In 1905, the Colorado River breached irrigation canals which created a body of water as big as Delaware. The region was once known as the California Riviera but now it's plagued by unemployment and pollution.
