Statistics Canada says there were 2.8 million fewer commuters in 2021 than 2016 as the pandemic drove a shift towards remote work. 29% of commuters left for work between 7 and 7.59 am the most popular window for such trips. Nearly a third of Canadians want a commute of no more than 15 minutes.
