What Is Meaning?
This essay was an attempt to make sense of how other people use this term, and why they seem so caught up on questions of whether their life is or isn't meaningful. So for me, i've never really cared about that question. It's probably an adaptive drive for us to try to have influence on things that are larger than us. And if you are ever trapped in a environment, or a work, a job, something that feels meaningless, it's probably because you are intuiting that the overall effects of your actions are going nowhere. But to apply that lens to a human life, or to humanity at large, doesn't seem particularly important to me.
