If leaders cannot get in touch with their own feelings they will have difficulty understanding the feelings of others. Once one develops self-awareness one can then become better at controlling emotions followers look to leaders to be able to get thing get stable when things get chaotic controls one's emotions has many personal organizational and societal benefits i remember when i was young i was a young inexperienced leader i acted out in front of a group of my followers showing great displeasure not with them but with a situation we were dealing with  i ranted and raved and threw my notebook across the room as an inexperienced leader I thought this would demonstrate to my followers followers i was all in instead.
