Think grief is love looking for its home. Boredom might be sign posting that you don't have enough of it in your life. Self compassion can feel like you being weak or lazy, or lying to yourself. But when we think about self compassion, the ponents of self compassion are the recognition that it's hard to human. For every single one of us, we are being asked to human by a world that values relentless positivity.
Whether you’re the kind of person who “gets in their feels” or you’re more the type to sweep things under the rug, all humans experience emotions. And the way we tend to those emotions directly affects the way we see our lives, says today’s guest, Susan David. She is a psychologist and author of the book “Emotional Agility: Get Unstuck, Embrace Change, and Thrive in Work and Life” (Avery, 2016).
