The Gold Standard Is in Contradictory With the English
The gold standard was like this force that the english harnessed for their own benefit. It could just as easily have been enforced from multiple market centers, and not just one single dominant center. So if you're feeling like there's a contradiction, you're right,. That is something of a contradiction. But i think it's a contradiction that is a productive contradiction that just worked.
