Many people in quebec objected to the war because one canadian government, under prime minister robert bordon, had promised that they wouldn't enact conscription. Out of the 404 thousand men eligible for conscription, 380 thousand applied for an exemption so they wouldn't have to go. The police were also tracking them as well as conscientious objectors. And if i remember from our first episode ever, the episode on bamp, this was a time when a lot of immigrants were seen as enemy aliens. Many of these enemy aliens were put into interment camps. It's called the secret life of bamph but yet, anyway, anyway...
