Is There a Future for Tardigrades?

Scientists found that Tardigrades did in fact originate here on Earth. While you might hypothesize that they could have survived a trip through space until landing on a planet that has water, that's not what actually happened. That being said, Tardigrade might play a part in experimenting with organisms to see if they could survive on other planets in the future. A planet that might be harsh for most organisms might actually be a suitable place for Tardigrading.
