I think part of what's fascinating about looking at this movement is to get a glimpse of what could be the future of American conservatism. I agree with your characterization that we're turning away from the old model of conservatism, which was this fusion of different elements and in their view too much individualism combined with the more traditional perspective. Some of the conferences this movement has held are overseas and they attract people from Europe, so there is this ferment I think intellectually might be a bit strong. It's not like the national conservatives are the only ones doing it. They're actually jockeying with even more religious people and people who are really committed to ideas that are hostile to individuals. That's
