The Paradox of AI and Income Distribution
The challenge is not will AI make society wealthier, barring that we don't kill ourselves with it. It almost surely will make us more productive and therefore more affluent and net. But the problem, the challenge and the one we face so severely for the last four decades is income distribution. And if it devalues many, many people's skills, then a lot of the benefits of that technology will go to the owners of the technology itself rather than or themselves instead of workers.
