Researchers at Warwick University have created a surrogate for paralysis in macaques. One monkey can control the other one's movement through a neural prosthesis. The next step would be to create a prosthesis that is able to move to many different targets simultaneously. In theory, we've got a long way to go on fine motor skills like playing an instrument or something which requires enormous amounts of brain power," says Christopher James.
