Is There an Addiction in Our Society?

I would argue that there's a broad range of addiction in our society That are not substance based, but which employ the same brain circuits and the same emotional dynamics. So then, from an evolutionary perspective I want to get back to your points about how the environment affects the developing brain. Is it possible that our society is creating these traumas into us as a way of perpetuating itself? To run on the wheel, to keep the society running, to go to work every day, to make more money, to get the status You know what I mean?
