"I was sexually assaulted when I was in college and had kind of a stereotypical textbook response to that," she said. "And so I dropped it and I went on to develop a lot of physical health issues from that." Her father committed suicide the day before his sentencing in 2019. She says her knowledge of trauma work served her significantly as she navigated that.
