Everything about life is duplicating things, making excess, multiplying our body cells to grow. We overproduce variety, some of which will be better suited to that world than others and selection ensues. In inverse Darwinism, the malthousian part has been inverted so you can play around with evolution. Once you get more complex, you can't get simpler. It's really costly to get simpler.
