The History of the Goths
The Huns are an exogenous shock into this region in the way that the Goths were in the third century. They completely changes the constellation of groupings that Rome is facing beyond its frontier. We see Gothic groups responding in a number of different ways, either by looking to get out of the way of the Huns or try and negotiate new relationship with Roman state.
