The largest private equity firms are responding to this trend by raising flagship funds more frequently and making those flagships bigger. The average flagship fund sized jump from 12 billion to 17 billion between the last two fund raising cycles for most funds. Private equity continues to offer broader exposure, lower volatility and returns that are better, especially at the top tier.
