The NCLB's Attempt to Protect Conscientious Obsessed Military Service
The NCLB took the position that many socialists and labor leftists did during this period, which was that World War I was a capitalist war. The American government was sending working people to the front lines in the service of industry and capital. So there were a number of conscientious objectors who objected to military service under all circumstances. And so considered president Woodrow Wilson to be one of their own.
