As the American in the room here, libertarianism in Britain just seems bizarre to me. At least it kind of is rooted in America and the founding institutions. Here it just seems like a strange import. The obsession with freedom. What does that even mean? What are you being free from? Oh, government coercion, good luck. It's nonsense. ...army to the teeth and practising their goose-ed position. You can always rely on the libertarian to leap in front of a successful manoeuvre from the right against the left and defend the left. But libertarianism, honestly, I do view as basically a left-wing philosophy.
