The Frontier Is Not on the Cutting Edge but on the Trailing Edge
It reminds me just kind of like a it's almost a truism in the field of science and technology studies that we tend to fetishize technological solutions to problems right. These technologies are being put in social systems that have these issues around power and inequality and such and without really addressing those social problems you're not really like you're just not touching it right. I think once we solve those or address those then when new issues arise I think we'll be better equipped to handle them especially their longevity. We're not there yet by any means but I think hopefully we can get there.
