Ben Kravitz: I kind of love the time before customer service was a thing. My late father opened up a store on St. Lawrence in Duluth. He came here as a young man, but he lived on a farm in Lithuania. They learned how to preserve and save merchandise that should keep longer because they could ill afford having anything lost.
