Developing a Defensive Decision Making Task
Players will watch a passage of play out on the screen for about 15 to 20 seconds so they can kind of get that feel of being in the game. The person viewing the footage would then obviously have to decide who they will pass the ball to in that situation based upon environmental constraints. That particular task has been integrated back into that talent ID process in WA and it's something that we'd like to envisage start to progress into other state academy programs as well. We tend to set up a small-sided game and film that and isolate defensive situations where players need to act to win the footy back to intercept the footy.
