I think at a large scale system, I really like that there's an article by Martin Fowler thought works on the testing strategy. Don't try to test on real as much as possible. Then maybe possible fake data, mocks and stuffs later because you test with stubs, then you don't know what will happen. A lot of engineering leaders, I don't think again have empathy for testing as a discipline. Even over there, wireless, you can absolutely the testing and production bit is the last port of call. Sometimes you have to just sit down and create a dependency graph. You have to literally mentally figure out why your machine is trying to do something it shouldn't be doing
