God's Hardening Pharaoh's Heart

The Israelites are in bondage to the Pharaoh in Egypt and this is the leading superpower of the day so God is actually stepping in to bring freedom and release to his covenant people. So when we see that God then further hardens Pharaoh's heart keep in mind that Pharaoh has already hardened his own heart. There is a hardening which takes place at two levels first and I think that's generally speaking that God doesn't harden soft hearts or potentially soft hearts he hardens those that have already become self-hardened through resistance to his grace.
