Matt Welch: The implications of this particular Twitter file trouble me maybe more than any other. It seems to me that in an age of cost cutting and sort of lower ad revenue and so on, they found a kind of magic lamp here. They could write controversial stories about Russian interference and link them to almost any other topic in the news. And then when they heard it was too good to be true, they didn't want to hear it. That's exactly right. I mean, from your reporting, Matt, they want to be fooled because they were being told at certain points that they were being fooled and didn't care to hear about it.
