The Battle of Dunkirk
In the face of an existential threat, the allies mustered the will and courage to overcome the powerful german war machine. In strategy and philosophy, these battles are metaphors for two very different ways we might confront climatchange. So in the struggle against climate change, which metaphor is more fitting? Victory around the corner if we just try hard enough, or should we accept a conditional defeat in the service of long term survival? When i ask myself these questions, i know what i want to hear. I want to hear that victory is possible, that if we work hard enough, we can head off catastrophe.
