Theology and Theology in the Ottoman Empire

Philosophical texts were still being read across the Orthodox world. Schools and monasteries provided centers of learning in many places. Many scholars also trained in the Latin West, especially in Italy. Because of this constant interaction with the West, an abiding concern of Orthodox theologians remained the question of church unity.
