Londonium: A Home From Home for Romans

For a Roman travelling to this far off land Londonium would have been a home from home. The second forum that was built which is on the site now of Leidenhall Market, when you read the literature it is often described as being the second largest forum north of the Alps in the Roman Empire. A whole raft of Roman authors living in Rome without direct contact with the province of Britannia who described it really as being the most remote place you could possibly think of and going alongside its remoteness it's also extremely backward.
